Abstract
Considering that informal employment has many consequences on poverty and income distribution, it is important to know the factors affecting it; Therefore, the aim of this study was to know the factors affecting informal employment in the border regions of Iran. This meta- synthesis study was conducted with the six-step method of Walsh and Dunn (2005). 2024 articles were retrieved from different databases, of which 15 articles were used according to the research objectives. The findings showed that various factors such as the nature of informal jobs, social-cultural conditions, economic factors, institutional factors, geographical situation and overseas factors play a role in informal employment in the border regions of Iran. The results indicated that the factors that encourage people to work informally are diverse and heterogeneous. This heterogeneity comes not only from the nature of informal jobs, but also from the factors that create and create informal employment in the border areas, so it is necessary to change the approach of the custodian institutions in the field of creating employment opportunities, improving the business environment. and to improve relations between neighboring countries, measures should be taken to strengthen commercial policies in border areas. , improving the business environment. and to improve relations between neighboring countries, measures should be taken to strengthen commercial policies in border areas.
