The ideal model for attracting and maintaining the participation of volunteers

Abstract
This research was conducted to identify the optimal pattern of recruitment and retention of volunteers.A semi constructed interview was conducted with the target group includes managers and experts at two levels with at least 5years of work experience related to the field of volunteering,as well as volunteers with at least 4years of active membership in the Red Crescent.The interviews continued until "theoretical saturation"was realized and a total of 23managers and experts and 18volunteers in 7provinces,which had more volunteers.The thematic network analysis method was used to analyze the data.We found 12sub-themes and 4main themes that the main themes are:1.The confrontation of modern management with traditional management(intelligent management,efficient and need-based recruitment as well as organization and employment)2. Empowerment and social development in line with the retention of volunteers(motivation acts as a strategic weapon in attracting and retaining volunteers,social participation,the proper foundation,and training effectiveness),3.Efficient and effective service management(compilation of evaluation system, control and transferring, identifying and implementing strategies for welfare policies, and explaining the value system for volunteers and volunteer work) and4.Current conditions governing volunteers and volunteer work(structural problems at the population level and infrastructural problems of volunteer work).The extracted themes were considered the basic components of the model of attracting and maintaining the participation of volunteers.The desired model was introduced based on three components of input,process, and output
